Hessel’s On-Campus Bible Study at SSU

TONIGHT 7:00pm @ Charlie Brown’s Cafe (SSU)

We will be continuing our study in 1 Peter. The easiest way to find us, as the campus can feel like a labyrinth, is to park at the Starbucks across the street, cross E. Cotati at the light. Below is a Google Map giving walking directions from the Starbucks to the Library.

Somebody Else’s Christmas Party
November 11, 2008

Hey guys! You guessed it…it is time for another Christmas in November party!!

This time we are going to celebrate the Christmas season by sending Christmas presents to kids who otherwise wouldn’t have them! We are going to be filling shoeboxes full of goodies that will be sent to children around the world through an event sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse called Operation Christmas Child.

At 4 Oclock we will be meeting at Natalie K. and Savannah’s house and carpooling to Target in Rohnert Park to buy little gifts and treats to fill our shoeboxes with. Afterwards we will go back to our (Nat and Sav’s)house to eat dinner as a group, put together our shoeboxes, and of course watch another Christmas movie!!

Be thinking about what gender and age group you want to make a shoebox for before we meet on Saturday so you can decide what kind of little goodies to get for them! This is an amazing oppurtunity to do something really neat for someone else and it should be carefully and prayerfully thought about!

PLEASE BRING AN EMPTY SHOEBOX TO FILL IF YOU CAN!!

We are having another celebration of Christmas in November, this time with ugly sweaters and fondue!

Search through that closet, costume box or thrift store rack to find that perfectly awful Christmas sweater to wear to this event. We will also be having a little savory and sweet fondue!

And what would a Christmas in November party be without the perfect movie to top it off? This time we will be watching It’s a Wonderful Life…because after all would it be Christmas without such a classic?!

Christmas in November
October 23, 2008

Tell me if this has ever happened to you:

It’s December. You’re at school working your little mind to the bone, er, skull. You’ve studied 4 weeks straight, you can’t imagine writing another paper, and you literally cry whenever you hear the word ‘final.’ After all your hard work you come home and it hits you! It’s Christmas!

You run back out of the house, get all the shopping done, and come home heaving and covered in sweat. Usually no sooner than Christmas Eve. Christmas comes, it’s fun, and back to school.

We’ll be holding a number of parties and events in November that will help you have fun with the holiday season.

Keep your eyes here for information!

Best Regard,

Greg
